About Me

I'm Mal.  The twenty-something who feels like a teenager but is quickly approaching thirty.  #howdoesthathappen My love language is quality time, but I'm an introvert.  I'm constantly striving to spend less time on my phone.  I love to travel, jam to Michael Buble, read restaurant menus, and shop til I drop.

I married the guy who used to walk extra-slow to his pickup truck in the parking lot while I ran upstairs to my locker, just so that we could follow each other out of the high school parking lot.  I knew back then I'd be lucky to be his wife.  This is us now and our dog-ter Tulip!

Family is pretty high on my list.  Mine's darn good.  Between my husband and I, we have 3 sisters who are our best friends, 1 way cool brother, 4 AMAZING parents, and thee cutest four and a half year old nephew you will ever meet. #blessed

I love the Lord and realize that my faith will always be a work in progress.  I'm thankful for the work he has done on my heart over the years, and the marriage He's blessed me with.  Well really I'm thankful for everything.  I'm who I am today because of the experiences I've been given and the people I've met.  I thank God for the little things like playing a song on the radio just when I really need to hear it.

No joke, I like to exercise.  Running is my jam, which brings me to my next point...
I run so I can eat.  I love food.  I think wayyy more than average.  I've been working on reigning that in and focusing on healthy habits - like not overindulging myself every. day. I also work out at a yoga factory a few times per week for a dose of positivity.

A few years ago I realized the power of a positive attitude during my internship at Walt Disney World.  The impact this had on me changed my life and even though I still have negative nancy days, I strive to see the good in everything.  That place is truly magical!

Honesty is my policy.  I have seen attitudes transform and people connect on such a deeper level when they're willing to let their guard down and share their true selves.  My goal for this space is to do just that.  We have so much to learn from one another! And since we're being honest, I'm worried I used "I" too much on this page, but I'm going to show myself some grace since this is my About Me page.  #tryingtobelessselfabsorbed

I believe life is truly beautiful even in the not-so-happy moments.
